About the Academy
Our academy, located in Watford, serves a diverse student body with mixed abilities. We are committed to providing an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The Head of Computing will play a key role in leading the department and shaping the curriculum.Job purpose
The Head of Computing will lead the department, develop and deliver an engaging Computing curriculum, and inspire students to excel in digital literacy and computing. This role involves managing the department, ensuring high-quality teaching, and enhancing students' learning experiences.
Main responsibilitiesLead and develop the Computing curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
Manage the Computing department, providing leadership and support to staff, and promoting high standards in teaching and learning.
Monitor student progress, implement strategies for improvement, and support all students to succeed in Computing.
Manage the department’s budget and resources, ensuring effective use of technology and equipment.
Foster a positive and inclusive department culture, encouraging extra-curricular activities such as coding clubs.
Stay up to date with developments in Computing and educational technology, integrating new innovations into the curriculum.
