Are you passionate about helping children achieve their maximum potential, regardless of their starting point? If so, we invite you to join our vibrant team at Tudor Grange Academy Worcester where children flourish academically, creatively and socially.
In October 2024, Ofsted commended the Academy:
"The school aspires to offer a transformative experience for its pupils, and for many, it achieves this goal. Pupils feel genuinely cared for in this friendly, inclusive school. They know that trusted adults keep them safe and will act swiftly to help them if they have any worries. Pupils are encouraged to take full advantage of the distinctive opportunities available to nurture their talents and expand their horizons. As one pupil explained, 'There is something for everyone here.' "
We relentlessly pursue our mission to establish ourselves as a truly great school at the heart of the community we serve. The Academy is a diverse, inclusive school for girls and boys from Year 7 to Sixth Form, where high expectations are set for everyone in our community. Our TUDOR values—Tolerance, Unity, Democracy, Opportunity, and Respect—are the golden strands that run through every aspect of our school.
We seek to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic and creative Curriculum Leader Teacher of Social Sciences with a Sociology specialism to oversee the continued development and growth of Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Child Development and Health and Social Care. This position is available for either an experienced Lead Teacher or a Teacher who is keen to progress. The ideal candidate for this vacancy will:

Maintain oversight in all activities within the department, including clubs and trips
An ability to liaise with parents and guardians to support students where required
Establishing a stimulating environment for all students, setting challenging targets that build on prior attainment and achieve success for all
Working with colleagues to develop offering of Social Sciences in line with the vision and ethos of the Academy and Trust
Prior experience of leading a small department would be advantageous but not essential. If you feel that you have these attributes and skills, and are suitably qualified, then we would like to hear from you.
Department information
All the Social Sciences have a superb uptake at KS4 and KS5, they are extremely popular with the students who enjoy and value them greatly. The department takes a fully inclusive approach towards delivery of all the specialisms and believe that Social Sciences are subjects for everyone. We know that the skills mastered through a graduated curriculum are crucial for young people trying to make sense of the world and their place within it.
We are committed to offering students a positive and enriching experience in Social Sciences and as such, we deliver a range of extra-curricular opportunities, including clubs after school and regular trips. Recent visits have included the Old Bailey, Worcestershire NHS Trust Industry Day, King’s Careers Fair, Birmingham City University and Worcestershire Youth Takeover Day.
