Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for the opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11–18 Church of England Academy. Based in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, we are located in the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious person to join the team at Chiltern Hills Academy. Due to our expansion, we are seeking to appoint from September 2022 a well-qualified, enthusiastic and innovative person whose passion for art and all things creative will lead our team forward to develop our core art curriculum and extra-curricular activities. A recruitment and retention allowance will be negotiable for an exceptional candidate. The Department is well resourced, and Art and Photography consistently perform well at GCSE and A Level at Chiltern Hills Academy.
We are looking for a dynamic practitioner who can deliver high-quality learning and who has students’ progress at the forefront of their teaching. You will be able to communicate your passion for the subject through innovative, diverse and stimulating teaching methods. The successful candidate will be fully involved in departmental development, target setting and evaluation of student progress and will possess the following attributes:

We have been graded ‘good’ following our latest SIAMS inspection (March 2020). “The academy is highly inclusive and tireless in supporting all of its pupils and staff. Our OFSTED inspection in February 2017 also judged the school as ‘good’ in all categories.

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1,025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the sixth form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire County Council.
We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of the Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.
The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
