Cardinal Newman School is an 11-19 comprehensive school, serving the Roman Catholic community in Luton and Dunstable. We are one of the most successful schools in Luton and have a thriving Sixth Form with 300 students. Our passion is to see students achieve the best that is possible, inspired by great teaching and great leaders. Cardinal Newman School has an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Leader for Business & Economics who shares this passion.
We are currently looking for a dynamic, passionate and inspirational leader, who has excellent subject knowledge and is able to contribute to continued improvements in progress and student attainment to join our successful and experienced Business Studies department.
The post holder will have full responsibility for outcomes within the department in terms of examination grades and as such should be an outstanding practitioner leading by example.
We are looking to hear from candidates who will be responsible for:
- Making significant contributions to teaching and learning and to contribute to relevant professional development, in addition to principal responsibilities within the faculty.
- Teaching across the age and ability range including Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 including vocational courses.
- Monitoring and evaluating the teaching within the faculty and use this analysis to identify effective practice and areas for development, and take action to further improve the quality of teaching and learning.
- Writing, implementing and evaluating the strategic improvement plan for the Faculty.
