What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a passionate and experienced teacher who is keen to take the next steps in their career and make a real difference as a middle leader.
Modern Foreign Languages is one of our strongest subjects with GCSE value added scores in 2023 being over a whole grade higher than predicted. Following our OFSTED inspection of November 2022 one of our key strategic development targets for the school is to increase the numbers of students studying languages at Key Stage 4. We have an ambitious plan to achieve this and are looking to recruit a talented and passionate leader for languages who will have the drive and ambition to help us realise this.
The successful candidate will lead a team of committed and skillful teachers, and language assistants who are all keen to contribute to the growth of the subject with creative ideas and teamwork. You will have the full support of the senior leadership team and governors.
Could you be the inspirational leader who will ensure languages flourish at Thamesmead School?
The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.
"Pupils behave well, are co-operative and respectful towards their teachers and each other. Strong leadership aims to ensure that the school provides the best possible standards of teaching and learning."- Ofsted.
