The job role consists of:

  • Responsibility for teaching in assigned curriculum areas

  • Raising standards and promoting the vision, ethos, culture and policies of the school and department.

  • Supporting the clear, cohesive leadership and direction in learning and teaching in the faculty area

  • Ensuring that high standards of discipline and respect are evident throughout the faculty, supporting colleagues in line with school policies and practice

  • Playing an active part in the monitoring of pupils’ behaviour for learning, alongside the Head of Faculty

  • Supporting the leadership and teaching and learning across the faculty

  • Demonstrating accountability through regular meetings with the Head of Faculty

  • Demonstrating measurable impact of the work undertaken in the faculty

  • Helping ensure all pupils, across all key stages engage in learning and maximise their potential

  • Being involved in enrichment activities such as making a contribution to after-school clubs and visits
