The Department
The Religious Education (RE) and Personal Development (PD) department delivers a gold standard curriculum that develops students academically, socially, and personally. RE fosters critical thinking and understanding of diverse beliefs, while PD builds life skills and character, covering topics such as relationships, wellbeing, financial education, and first aid. Together, they help students develop resilience, ambition, and a commitment to their best.
The department is committed to high-quality teaching, strong curriculum planning, and a supportive learning environment where students are challenged and inspired to reach their full potential.
The Role
We are looking for an inspiring and ambitious Curriculum Leader to lead the RE & PD department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. This key middle leadership role combines curriculum leadership, teaching, and staff development.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Work at a senior and strategic level, shaping curriculum and learning across the school
- Lead by example through outstanding teaching and professionalism
- Demonstrate a commitment to putting students at the heart of the curriculum
- Be relentlessly driven to overcome barriers and enable all students to achieve exceptional progress
- Be committed to their own professional development and collaborative, consultative working.
They will embody the school’s PROUD values and help ensure every student achieves their full potential in line with Uxbridge High School’s Proud to Make Success Happen ethos.
