his is a unique opportunity for a skilled and motivated DT specialist to shape the future of the subject at a pivotal time of development for our school. You will lead a committed team, drive forward curriculum innovation, and ensure that Design & Technology continues to thrive as a vibrant, high-profile area of the curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the strategic development of Design & Technology across all key stages, ensuring a curriculum that is creative, relevant, and ambitious for all learners.
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that ignite curiosity, encourage innovation, and celebrate practical skills and design thinking.
  • Inspire students to develop confidence, creativity, and resilience through hands-on learning and problem-solving.
  • Manage and develop a dedicated team of teachers and technicians, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee the effective use of specialist spaces, equipment, and materials to ensure a safe, modern, and inspiring learning environment.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture where staff and students are encouraged to “be the best that we can be.”

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced teacher with a strong track record of success in Design & Technology (Resistant Materials, Engineering, Product Design, or related specialisms).
  • Has the leadership skills, creativity, and drive to raise standards and build a department that inspires both students and staff.
  • Brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a passion for hands-on learning.
  • Is committed to the wider life of the school and the development of students as confident, independent learners.
