Curriculum Leader Science job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and passionate specialist to lead our outstanding science department. If you are an existing or aspiring curriculum leader and would like to lead an ambitious department in an ‘good’ school then we would welcome your interest and application. This is a tremendous opportunity to lead a high performing team of specialist science teachers who consistently strive to achieve outstanding outcomes for our students. We are justifiably proud of our excellent results, achieving a Progress 8 score of +0.37 in 2023 and believe that we offer both students and staff a caring environment in which they can succeed.
We are proud of the outcomes for GCSE 9-1 Science in 2023. The department consistently achieves very high standards in all Key Stages with excellent value-added results. Overall, the department achieved a value-added score of +0.18.
Successful candidates will:
o Have responsibility to lead and manage a team of colleagues in the effective delivery of Science across the age and ability range of the school.
o To provide leadership of Science, helping to ensure excellent outcomes for all students.
o To lead the development of the Science curriculum so that all students receive a rich and challenging experience of Science.
o Be an effective classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and committed to ensuring all students succeed and fulfil their potential.
o Experience of developing and holding staff accountable.
o An outstanding track record within your current department or role.We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
