The Prospect Trust is a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South of England, with an aim of providing outstanding education for all learners within a family of local academies. There are currently three academies within the Trust: The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School and Frimley Church of England Junior School. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Media and Film Studies department within an outstanding Sixth Form College.
The Media and Film Department consists of 10 specialist teachers who deliver the Level 3 Cambridge Technical Digital Media qualification, A Level Media and A Level Film Studies to approximately 550 students. Alongside the teaching staff a team of technicians support students in the delivery of skills in the subject area and deliver enrichment opportunities.
The Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Digital Media is offered as an Extended Certificate (Single option) or Diploma (Double option) over two years, with approximately 150 students across these courses.
The Media and Film Department provides strong industry recognition and links with its work experience with external clients and the “Creative Kickstart” initiative, making students aware of progression opportunities across a range of subject areas.
As a new member of staff you will receive plenty of support from your colleagues both from the department and from the wider college community. This will include:
a mentor to help you through the first year (in particular);
support from your director of faculty; and
an extensive programme for all new staff to help induct you into College life as well as to develop your approach to teaching
We regard our staff as our most important resource and will do our utmost to support you throughout your time at the College.
We continue to be an outstanding provider of post-16 education and in 2019 the results gained by our students placed the College in the top 25% for A-level, and the top 10% for level 3 vocational courses.
All teaching staff are provided with either a touch screen chromebook or an iPad to support learning and teaching within the classroom.
If you are motivated by a challenge and feel you could support us to achieve even greater results, this is the right College for you. It is a truly great place to work.
