Curriculum Specialist for SEND job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school where faith is at the heart of all we do. Due to a reorganisation, we have a number of vacancies for Curriculum Specialists to play a part in the delivery of an exciting and creative SEND curriculum.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively within a team to ensure there are high quality and effective learning opportunities for all children, and you should have a passion for working with pupils with a variety of complex needs and for the inclusion agenda.

The role will include:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering specialist learning activities and targeted interventions;
  • Evaluating the impact of activities;
  • Leading the classroom in the absence of the teacher;
  • Assessing children's attainment and progress;
  • Regular focus meetings with parents.

You need to be energetic and self-confident, and with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. You need to have extensive experience of working with children in a classroom, including children with special educational needs. You need to share our vision for inclusion and for inspiring children to aim high and succeed.

In addition, you need to be able to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
