We are looking for a Data & Cover Officer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on precision and collaboration, and wants to play a key role in strengthening systems, data integrity and operational excellence across our partnership schools

We are seeking a professional, dedicated and highly organised Data & Cover Officer to join our established and supportive partnership team. This role will be primarily based at Eastbrook School, while working collaboratively as part of the wider central services team across both partnership schools.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive administrator who thrives in a fast-paced educational environment and enjoys working at the centre of school operations.

About the Role

As Data & Cover Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily running of the school by coordinating staff cover, maintaining accurate data systems and supporting timetabling and assessment processes.

A core responsibility of the role is organising daily cover arrangements — checking absence information each morning, allocating lessons efficiently and ensuring all staff have the information and resources needed to deliver high-quality teaching. Alongside this, you will work closely with the Data Manager to support MIS administration, pupil progress tracking, timetable processes and reporting.

You will be someone who communicates clearly, works collaboratively and is always looking for ways to improve systems, services and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and publish daily cover arrangements, ensuring all lessons are staffed effectively
  • Maintain accurate absence records and support monitoring of staff attendance systems
  • Work closely with approved agencies to arrange emergency cover when required
  • Support timetabling processes, rooming arrangements and option choices administration
  • Maintain high-quality data records within Arbor and other school systems
  • Assist with pupil progress tracking, reporting cycles and examination data processes
  • Produce reports, analyse data and support departments with assessment information
  • Provide administrative support as part of the partnership’s central services team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and data systems
  • A positive “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn new processes
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy school environment
  • A genuine interest in developing knowledge of school data systems, timetabling and administration

Professional Development & Support

The successful candidate must be committed to professional development and CPD opportunities. In return, the partnership offers excellent support, guidance and hands-on experience to help you develop your expertise in school data systems, cover management and operational administration.
