Deputy Cook job summary
This position is part time, covering five days a week Term Time only. Normal working hours are Monday - Thursday 09.45 - 13.45 pm Friday 09.00 - 13.00
We are committed to providing an excellent catering service to our pupils and staff. We serve over 300 lunches every day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our established team and someone who will support with the continued development of this successful catering operation.
You will assist the Catering Supervisor with the development and implementation of a range of creative and innovative ideas for the menus and to be successful you must be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of practical cooking in a large scale environment and some previous supervisory experience is desirable.
Effective communication skills with an emphasis on customer care are essential, as is the ability to lead and work as part of a team.
It is desirable that you will have an:
NVQ Level 2 / 706/1 and or 706/2 in Food preparation.
Level 2 Food safety certificate
Have knowledge of HACCP and Health and Safety in a kitchen
Basic computer skills
