Are you a talented mathematics teacher looking to step into leadership—or an experienced leader seeking a fresh, ambitious environment to grow your career? This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Romsey School as Deputy Curriculum Leader of Mathematics, working within a high-performing department and making a real impact on the lives of our students.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and skilled mathematician to play a pivotal leadership role in one of the school's most successful departments. You’ll support the Curriculum Leader in shaping curriculum design, mentoring colleagues, driving standards, and helping to further strengthen outcomes in Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is the ideal role for someone with leadership potential looking to move into a curriculum leadership position—or an existing leader seeking a new challenge in a school with a strong track record and clear pathways for professional growth.

Why Join Us?

At The Romsey School, part of The Gateway Trust, we believe in Compassionate Excellence—aspiring, caring, and including in everything we do. We are proud of our collaborative culture and our commitment to staff development and wellbeing.

You will benefit from:

  • A personalised professional development plan, with regular and relevant CPD
  • A clear leadership progression pathway, with mentoring and support
  • The chance to be part of a high-performing Maths department, where:
    • In 2024, 83% of students achieved grade 4+, 65% grade 5+, and 25% grade 7+ in GCSE Maths
    • Results place the department in the top 20% nationally (FFT Aspire)
    • We enjoy strong partnerships with NCETM and local schools
  • Smaller-than-average class sizes, allowing you to focus on high-quality teaching
  • Opportunities to contribute to wider school development, including whole-school teaching and learning initiatives

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner who:

  • Has a genuine passion for Mathematics and teaching excellence
  • Can teach across the full ability range in KS3 and KS4
  • Is a confident team player, capable of supporting colleagues and driving departmental improvement
  • Is excited by professional development and leadership growth

  • Discounted places at our on-site nursery, Little Sunlights
  • Free, on-site staff parking
  • Opportunities to be part of:
