We would like to appoint a dynamic and inspirational experienced qualified teacher to join our academy as Deputy Head of Maths. We are looking for an effective and enthusiastic classroom teacher who will be able to complement our dedicated team of outstanding practitioners.
Your opportunity
As Deputy Head of Maths, the purpose of your role will be:
To deputise for the Head of Maths
To be accountable for student progress and development throughout an agreed key stage in maths
To assist the Head of Maths to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students
To ensure that all academy policies and procedures are implemented and applied consistently by all staff in the maths department
To assist the Head of Maths to ensure the agreed tutor programme is implemented and that tutors are effective in their role
To assist the Head of Maths in effectively and efficiently managing and deploying teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources across the subject area
To assist the Head of Maths in leading development for literacy within the mathematics department, to raise standards of literacy across the academy

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will be an experienced mathematics teacher with excellent subject knowledge and will be creative and passionate about sharing that knowledge with our students. Holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will be committed to attaining the highest standards and expecting excellence from our young people. You will be part of a team that will deliver and lead the subject through a variety of innovative approaches including curriculum design, teaching strategies, use of technology and intervention programmes that will create an environment where every classroom offers outstanding provision for students.
