Deputy Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) job summary

Park High School is seeking an ambitious and experienced MFL specialist to join the school as Deputy Head of Modern Foreign Languages from September 2026. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for a talented teacher of Spanish with a strong track record in teaching and curriculum development. The school is specifically looking for a teacher who can teach Spanish, and the ability to teach a second language would be advantageous.

Working closely with the Head of Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in leading, developing and supporting the MFL team, while modelling excellent classroom practice and contributing to high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages. The role includes supporting curriculum planning, assessment and quality assurance, using progress data to address underachievement, and promoting the value of languages in students’ academic, cultural and personal development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful department where French, Spanish and German are taught by committed subject specialists, and where all students study a language until the end of Year 9, with opportunities to continue to GCSE and A level.

Park High School offers a high-performing, character-driven environment with excellent behaviour, strong professional development, and a clear commitment to wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding.
