Deputy Head of Year Wellbeing (DHOY) - Maternity Cover job summary

The Wellbeing Deputy Head of Year (DHOY) is a key point of contact for all matters relating to students within the Year. The post holder is responsible for the management of students and administration of the various systems and procedures relating to student welfare and well-being. The post holder works under the supervision of the Head of Year.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, driven and committed individual to work as a member of the pastoral leadership team whilst the existing post holder is on maternity. The successful candidate will work as part of the leadership team for a Year Group, alongside the Deputy Head of Year: Progress.

High quality pastoral provision is key to everything we strive to achieve King’s Academy Brune Park. We know that Progress and Wellbeing are interdependent so the expectation is that the successful candidate will need to be a strong team player, able to take a holistic view of what wellbeing means for different young people.

This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with other teams both within the School and beyond. You need to be a creative thinker who never settles for less than the best for our young people. Robust relationships are a key part of this role. You need to be able to hold young people accountable without judgement. Strong administrative skills are also vital.
