We are looking for an inspirational leader to share the position of deputy head teacher in our school and form part of our strong leadership team. This position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in a part-time role.

We need a leader with high expectations to join our hardworking and supportive staff team. An experienced leader who is able to work in close collaboration with a job share partner to ensure that high standards are maintained and that the school continues to go from strength to strength.
This post includes some whole class teaching, team teaching, intervention and cover. The class teaching and cover teaching commitment is demand-led and will vary at different points of the school year. The applicant therefore needs to be prepared to teach in any part of the school.
Currently we have 195 children on roll, including our nursery class. Our staff team comprises of the Headteacher, two part time Deputy Headteachers, one Assistant Headteacher, a non-class-based Inclusion and Wellbeing Leader, a part- time non class based SENCo, eight class teachers, ten teaching assistants and a nursery nurse.
Orchard Park Community Primary School is wonderfully diverse. Nearly 50% of the children have English as an additional language, with 22 languages spoken across the school. Pupil Premium numbers are also higher than national averages. We know that our diversity is our strength. We sit within a new cohesive community and are the community hub for many families. Our last OFSTED inspection in March 2022 confirmed that we remain a ‘good’ school with 100% of staff reporting that they are proud to work at the school and that 99% of parents would recommend the school to others. As we enter the next inspection window, we are focusing on recovering our full curriculum offer. Ensuring that curriculum leadership is strong and that the curriculum impact is as intended.

Orchard Park Community Primary School is a small school situated on the northern boundary of the City of Cambridge in the growing Orchard Park development. We are fortunate to have a new beautifully designed school which is well equipped and surrounded by open play space. Our school was recently reaffirmed as 'Good' by Ofsted (March 2017) and is a unique and special place to work.
