Deputy Headteacher - Harborne Primary School
Harborne Primary School is a vibrant, inclusive and ambitious school split across two sites - Station Road and Court Oak Road - serving 808 wonderful pupils.
We are in an exciting transitional period as we continue to strengthen our vision, provision and leadership structures. We are now looking for an exceptional Deputy Headteacher who brings passion, drive and the expertise to help lead our school confidently into its next phase of development.
We are also delighted to share that Harborne Primary School will be joining The Elliot Foundation in the academic year 2026-2027.
Becoming part of this respected and collaborative trust will further strengthen our capacity for rapid school improvement and academic excellence. We look forward to the benefits of high‑quality professional networks, robust leadership development, and enhanced support that will help us continue to secure the very best outcomes for our pupils.
About the Role
As our Deputy Headteacher, you will work in close partnership with the Headteacher to drive whole‑school improvement, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care across both sites. Building on your responsibilities for data analysis and behaviour strategy, you will lead a precise and impactful approach to analysing pupil performance data with the explicit aim of improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. You will take a holistic, evidence‑informed approach to behaviour, ensuring that strategies are consistently applied across the school to rapidly narrow the gap between disadvantaged and non‑disadvantaged pupils.
You will act as the named lead for disadvantaged pupils including PP, LAC, EAL and SEMH, developing strong multi‑agency partnerships to secure targeted support and to promote the welfare and success of all children.
Your responsibilities will include line management of the senior management team (Heads of Year), oversight of whole‑school timetabling and cover, and strategic leadership of the Annexe site.
At the Annexe, you will provide visible day‑to‑day leadership, manage Assistant Headteachers, lead on behaviour, liaise proactively with parents, and oversee operational systems to ensure the smooth running of the site. This is a role for a proactive, collaborative and solution‑focused leader committed to securing excellence for every pupil.
We Can Offer You
At Harborne Primary School, you will be welcomed into a warm, friendly and dedicated staff team who are united by a shared commitment to giving every child an exceptional educational experience. We place great importance on professional growth and offer high‑quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including leadership pathways that support both current aspirations and future ambitions. Our positive, child‑centred ethos ensures that pupils are respected, celebrated and encouraged to excel. You will join a values‑driven community where collaboration, wellbeing and a deep belief in the potential of every child are at the heart of everything we do.
