Deputy Head Teacher job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and inspiring school leader to lead this small and delightful school in Birmingham alongside the Headteacher. We are seeking to appoint a person who is able to develop and lead a strong Christian vision and who fully understands the Christian distinctiveness of a Church of England school. We are therefore looking for a leader who will actively support and promote our Christian ethos in every aspect of school life.

We believe that success is found in who you are as well as what you do, and at all of our schools we aim to provide an outstanding education, supported by excellent pastoral care and high standards of behaviour, set within a distinctive Christian ethos. We want to equip our pupils with academic achievement, experiences and personal attributes to enable them to succeed in the next stage of their education.

Quinton Church Primary School is a happy and loving school, where pupils’ progress, achievements and well-being are equally valued, all within an environment where Christian values are promoted and shared.

The school serves local children, parents and the community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.

The school’s vision at Quinton Church Primary School (QCPS) is firmly rooted in its mission statement of ‘Fullness of life for all, through working together with the love of Christ’. At Quinton Church Primary School, we believe that everyone should have life in all its fullness. Therefore, our aim is for everyone to be part of our Christian community where everyone is happy, safe and supported, feels loved and demonstrates kindness; understands justice and shows fairness to all; and receives high quality education and is empowered to live life to the full (John 10:10).

As a school we are inspired by the instruction in Micah 6:8 “The LORD has told us what is good. What he requires of us is this: to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with our God.”

Therefore, we will aim to demonstrate and encourage a life that understands justice and shows fairness in every circumstance; shows love to all, demonstrating kindness in every way; and living in recognising God in each other and in our community.

Quinton Church Primary School joined the Birmingham Diocese Multi-Academy Trust (BDMAT) in January 2019. The school is situated on the south-western edge of Birmingham. Regularly over-subscribed and lying at the heart of the community we serve; we are a popular school with a family atmosphere. The school is set in its own grounds in a wider campus that includes Christ Church, Quinton.

The new headteacher will be supported by the Trust to achieve the very best outcomes for the pupils and to create a school that is the first-choice school for parents.
