An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a non-class-based Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team for September 2025.

Are you an experienced and inspiring senior leader within your school?

Do you have the passion and commitment to play a leading role in a child’s education?

Would you relish the challenge and opportunity to support our school further on its journey?

If these questions appeal to you, then please read on.

The Governors of Badsley Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Deputy Headteacher to build upon our existing strong foundations and drive our school to the next level of performance, alongside an experienced and committed staff.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, inspirational senior leader, ideally in a Deputy or Assistant Headteacher role in your current school. We are looking for a leader with a clear vision for the further development of our inclusive and welcoming school.

Our team at Badsley Primary is highly supportive and collaborative: children’s education and the school community lie at the heart of everything we do. We are a happy and caring school with children who are keen to learn and who aspire to achieve their best in everything they do.

Badsley Primary School is a large, three form entry (FS2 to Y6), highly regarded Local Authority maintained school, which serves the community. We understand that a child’s educational journey is as much about making lasting memories and discovering their talents as it is about academic success. We believe this enables children to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and resilience to equip them for life.

As Deputy Headteacher you will play a crucial role in the leadership and management of our school. You will collaborate with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to secure the highest standards of education.

If this sounds like your next step, you will need to be someone who:

  • Brings a commitment to setting high expectations and raising standards of achievement
  • Recognises the existing strengths of the school and areas for development
  • Has a strong commitment to inclusion, pastoral support, equality and diversity for all pupils and their families
  • Looks outside school for opportunities to improve and collaborate
  • Is passionate about education and has children at the heart of all their work
  • Develops and nurtures positive relationships with pupils, staff, governors, and the wider school community

  • Has an excellent work ethic and can work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst also recognising the importance of staff wellbeing

  • Provides up to date knowledge and expertise in the primary classroom

  • Promotes, demonstrates and celebrates our BADSLEY values in all that they do.

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher to:

  • Support the Headteacher’s overall leadership, development and management of teaching and learning of all pupils
  • Take a leading role in the monitoring and evaluation of standards across the whole school and to be a leading professional, actively promoting effective teaching and learning practices across all phases of the school
  • Support strategic leadership and direction to the school, working closely with the Headteacher
  • Have oversight of the day-to-day management and operations of the school, including timetabling and staff deployment
  • Have a passion for leading English across the school
  • Be a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
  • Have strategic oversight of the CPD offer across school and be committed to the professional development of yourself and others
  • Work in partnership with the Headteacher, governors, and staff to ensure the continuous improvement of the school

  • Deputise for the Headteacher and when required act up in the absence of the Headteacher
