We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team.
Bishopswood School is a vibrant community special school for children aged 4–16 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD), complex needs, and autism (ASD). Part of the Propeller Academy Trust, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative, inclusive education across two co-located sites with mainstream partners.

About the Role
- Deputise for the Headteacher and lead the school when required.
- Drive high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with complex SEND.
- Support curriculum development, assessment, and staff coaching.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, working with external agencies to keep pupils safe.
- Contribute to strategic planning, school improvement, and staff wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with parents, governors, and the wider community.
Who We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status and a degree.
- Proven leadership experience and a strong teaching track record.
- Expertise in SEND and inclusive education.
- Excellent communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality.
