We are looking for a school leader who:

  • Is an outstanding classroom practitioner, with the highest expectations of children’s behaviour and a culture of professionalism
  • Has a proven track record of delivering an exceptional quality of education for all groups of pupils
  • Is able to confidently work with the Headteacher on both the wider strategic development of the school, and the granular detail of behaviour, culture, and teaching and learning
  • Is able to strategically manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including timetabling and staffing
  • Has the ability to inspire, mentor, coach & manage a team of dedicated staff
  • Has excellent communication skills & interpersonal skills
  • Is able to engage & work with the parents/carers, governors & the wider community

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced leader as Deputy Headteacher and a key member of the school’s senior leadership team. You may already be a Deputy Headteacher looking for an alternative role in the Norwich area, or alternatively be an experienced Assistant Head who has led teaching and learning, and now wants to step into deputy headship to further your career.

The Deputy Head at Costessey will lead in the first instance a remit of behaviour and culture. Ensuring standards in all aspects of behaviour are high. You will be supporting and challenging middle leaders to achieve their best, enabling pupils to achieve in all subjects, and raising outcomes in statutory measures even higher through your work.

Our Headteacher was appointed in Summer 2024, and is looking for further success and school development through a relentless and shared approach to professionalism from the entire staff team who are united in the belief that all children can, and will, succeed as a result of high-quality teaching from passionate and caring professionals.
