Deputy Headteacher job summary
St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy is an improving school which is now full, with over 600 pupils on roll, including a Sixth Form which has doubled in size, in the last two years. Our Mission is ‘I have come that they might have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10), as we seek to ensure the very best spiritual, emotional and academic growth for all of our pupils. We are a Catholic community with our mission firmly based on the teaching of Jesus. We are looking for an inspiring Deputy Headteacher to help drive forward and further shape our vision for the school’s future development. You will be an active member of the school community who will lead, support, and encourage collaboration to help the school meet and exceed its objectives.

You will join our team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, supportive parents and a governing body who work in partnership to ensure that each child is happy, safe, supported and encouraged in all they do.
This is a permanent full time position starting from 1 January 2026, or earlier if possible.

St Peter and St Paul, Catholic Voluntary Academy is a Secondary school located in Lincoln. We are an Ofsted-rated good in Leadership and Management, good in Behaviour and attitudes, good in Sixth Form, good in Personal Development and requires improvement in Quality of Education. Our recent Ofsted inspection (May 2024) stated that pupils ‘enjoy positive relationships with caring staff. Pupils are guided by the school’s values to be tolerant and respect difference’.
We are part of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, bringing together the 36 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Lincolnshire, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.
You will:

- Be able to build successful teams and work collaboratively with others to achieve success.
- Be able to respond and adapt effectively to changing circumstances, maintaining high levels of performance.
- Actively listen and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences.
