What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to appoint an innovative and highly motivated individual to join our Senior Leadership and Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the achievement and inclusion of all students; especially those who are disadvantaged and those with additional or special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). They will take overall responsibility for student attendance, behaviour and inclusion provision, and will contribute to the strategic leadership of the whole school, including a core focus on the wellbeing of our staff and students.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of supporting student progress and personal development. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader of young people and have a commitment to improving standards for all students, ensuring a learning culture which is engaging and aspirational.

Highfields School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Wolverhampton has approximately 1,700 students on record.
Highfields School opened in 1957 and converted to academy status in 2015.
Highfields School wants all students to have access to a broad and balanced learning curriculum where are can gain the skills, knowledge and experience to thrive and reach their full potential. The secondary school wants students to feel valued during their time learning and works to be a caring and open learning community, where individual talents are celebrated and nurtured. The school believes that students achieve best when happy and wants parents, staff and students to all work together to achieve the best possible outcome for all. Students are encouraged to get involved with a wide range of extra-curricular activities to gain in confidence, nurture talents and discover new talents and interests. These include the Duke of Edinburgh Award, sports clubs, trips and an active Student Council, where skills in leadership and teamwork are practiced. The school recently received a cultural diversity award from the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.
