What skills and experience we're looking for
QTS
· Evidence of/ commitment to further training in leadership and management
- Experience as a senior leader within a primary school setting
- At least 5 years successful classroom experience within the primary age range
- Evidence of improving classroom practice to deliver good and outstanding teaching
- Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning
- Experience of leading and implementing whole school initiatives and managing change, developing strategies for raising achievement
- Experience of monitoring and evaluating curriculum delivery.
- Proven record of successful curriculum / subject leadership
- Ability to analyse data, develop strategic plans, set targets and monitor and evaluate progress towards these
- Evidence of planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating school improvement
- Ability to delegate where appropriate and to support others in undertaking responsibilities.
- Commitment to the promotion of a diverse and inclusive school community
- Experience of managing underperformance
- Understanding of high quality teaching, the ability to model this for others and support colleagues to improve and develop their practice.
Ability to use data analysis to develop strategies for raising achievement and monitoring progress.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of successful teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all pupils
- Secure understanding of assessment strategies and the use of assessment to inform the next stages of learning
- Experience of effective monitoring of teaching and learning
Ability and experience in managing staff performance and development
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing to a range of audiences
- Knowledge of ways in which links with external agencies can be used to extend learning opportunities for the school and pupils
- Understanding of and commitment to nurture and inclusion, and their impact upon learning.
- High expectations for all pupils
- Ability to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others
- An ability to dynamically problem solve and risk assess as and when issues arise
