What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School are looking to recruit a new Deputy Headteacher to play a crucial role in developing Safeguarding and Inclusion provision at the school.
Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a single sex boy’s secondary, and sixth form school based in Liverpool. There are currently almost 1400 pupils on roll.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a dedicated leader looking to focus on safeguarding and inclusion care within a Catholic school setting. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, with natural empathy, who works positively with other professionals and communities, whilst deriving satisfaction from supporting and developing the lives of children and young people.
The specific responsibilities of the Deputy Headteacher fall into the following areas:
- Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Responsibility for inclusion across the school
- Management and development of the SEND team
- Quality assurance of off-site provision
- Strategic lead for whole school attendance
- Strategic lead for whole school wellbeing
