Deputy Headteacher job summary

Thank you for your interest in the role of Deputy Headteacher at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy.

St Cuthbert’s is a founder school in the Trust. All pupils at St Cuthbert’s are encouraged to be the best they can be and staff are ambitious for their achievement and spiritual education.

St Cuthbert’s is a happy and thriving place to learn, where we work closely with parents to achieve the very best for all our children. Our goal is to encourage our children to make the very best of their talents and opportunities and develop their appreciation of the gifts of others. This is the heart of our Catholic identity and forms the foundation of our children’s spiritual and moral education. Our mission strapline, ‘In kindness and faith we belong!’, is at the centre of all we do.

We are now seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher who will work alongside the Headteacher and Governing Body to uphold our strong Catholic ethos, drive excellence in teaching and learning, support school improvement, and help shape the next phase of our school’s journey.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and committed leader who is passionate about Catholic education, dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for every child, and eager to make a significant contribution to the strategic and day-to-day leadership of our school.

The successful candidate will be Trust employed and will support the Headteacher and wider leadership team in leading teaching and learning, inclusion, behaviour and whole school improvement.

This role would suit an experienced Deputy Headteacher or an ambitious leader ready for the next step.

We are seeking a leader who:
Is an excellent classroom practitioner with leadership experience
Has a clear understanding of school improvement and safeguarding
Can inspire, support and challenge staff effectively
Is committed to collaborative working across a Trust

In return we can offer:
Strong leadership support and mentoring
Opportunities to work collaboratively across schools
Professional development and leadership progression
A Trust culture that values people, wellbeing and ambition

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit the school and experience our wonderful community for themselves.

If you believe you have the knowledge, skills and experience to make a positive contribution, we look forward to learning more about you and would welcome an application from you.
