Deputy Headteacher, St. Mary's CE Primary, Long Newton job summary
This is a full‑time, class‑based Deputy Headteacher post that combines high‑quality teaching with meaningful leadership responsibility. Working closely with the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher will play a key role in supporting school improvement, staff development and the continued raising of standards, while maintaining full responsibility for their own class.
The successful candidate will model excellent classroom practice, contribute to the strategic and day‑to‑day leadership of the school, and support inclusive provision so that all pupils, including those with SEND, are able to thrive. Leadership duties will be undertaken alongside teaching commitments and will reflect the needs and priorities of the school at different points in the year.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and reflective practitioner to develop their leadership skills within a supportive environment, while remaining firmly grounded in classroom practice and the wider life of the school community.
