Deputy Headteacher job summary
The leadership team of St Mary's C of E Primary School is looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher.
We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and experienced middle/senior leader to join our dedicated and innovative team, the deputy head will work closely with the headteacher and our assistant head teachers to continue to develop this good school.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step up to strategic school leadership and it may have a small teaching commitment. You will have the opportunity to lead developments within the school as we continue to build upon the things implemented during our recent changes in school leadership. We have recently received a good SIAMS inspection (March 2022) and will be looking for someone to lead on further developing the school's Christian distinctiveness.

You will:
- be expected to deputise for the Headteacher, and be in charge in her absence.
- Be committed to developing the opportunities for all pupils and staff;
- Be happy to support the Church of England ethos of our school though our school values;
- Be experienced in evaluating and supporting the development of a school strategically.
- Have had recent experience of contributing to school self-evaluation and improvement planning;
- Be an effective communicator with the ability to articulate our vision and commitment to education to all stakeholders including parents, staff and external agencies (OFSTED, SIAMs);
- Be dedicated to raising standards and removing barriers to learning for pupils with the ability to challenge each pupil from whatever their starting point;
- be able to lead on Performance management of staff.
- Have high expectations of yourself and pupils with a positive, can do and proactive nature;
- Have a clear understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures and experience of multi-agency working with a commitment to the success of every child.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
