What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher to join our team, whose main focus will be on helping us to safeguard children, identifying and removing any barriers to accessing school and learning; but who can also be a key part of our wider school improvement journey.

We are seeking an ambitious, inspirational and highly professional team member with the energy, drive and commitment to raise standards for all children across the whole school.

We are looking for an innovative leader who:

  • will support the Christian ethos of our school and uphold our vision: ‘Whatever you do, do it with all your heart’. Colossians 3:23
  • leads with integrity and honesty
  • will take the DSL role at St Matthew’s, providing training and support for staff and acting on concerns, where necessary, referring to and working with external services
  • demonstrates consistently exceptional teaching skills which inspire and motivate others
  • is highly organised with experience of strategic school development which allows them to map out the small steps required to reach the bigger picture
  • commits to engaging with all stakeholders, managing and maintaining effective relationships with governors, parents, children and the wider community
  • takes a full and active part in all aspects of our school community
  • is a team player with the energy to lead in a positive and inspirational way

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status; an NPQSL or equivalent qualification is desirable
