Deputy Headteacher job summary
To support the Headteacher in leading learning in a Christopher Nieper Education Trust school and guiding staff in developing consistent practice in teaching and learning ensuring high quality learning opportunities, pastoral care, safeguarding and behaviour through the management of behaviour, teaching and learning, attendance, pupil engagement, parental engagement, extended services and school organisation. This is so that all children achieve the highest standards of attainment and achievement.
As Deputy Head you will:
Support the Headteacher in providing outstanding leadership and management of the school, ensuring the safety of all pupils and conducting the affairs of the school for the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves;
Take responsibility for the leadership and management of Assessment, attendance and Pupil premium.
Ensure all pupils are supported and make excellent progress;
Deputise for the Headteacher in her absence.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the strategic development of the school by:
Upholding and developing the school and Trust vision and values;
Contribute to the school self-evaluation and improvement planning process;
Leading specific elements of the school and related improvement strategy as agreed in your specific roles and responsibilities;
Sustaining partnerships with the Academy Governing Board to ensure effective strategic planning and reporting for the school.
Work closely with colleagues across the Trust to build links to support with school development.
Ensure the effective working of the school by:
Monitoring, supporting and working in partnership with other members of staff;
Working to ensure professional relationships within the school are maintained and enhanced;
Supporting the Headteacher in leading the response to events impacting on the school including critical incidents;
Working effectively with other leaders in the school and Trust, ensuring consistency of approach and success for all pupils of all abilities and backgrounds.
Develop supportive relationships with parents and carers.

Provide opportunities for staff to grow and develop
Set a high standard through personal example
Support the Headteacher in effective monitoring & evaluation
Take a full contribution to the wider leadership and management of the school
Contribute in a variety of ways to the day to day running of the school
Support all school events
Support relevant Trust events
To have a teaching commitment
Other responsibilities:
