Job purpose:
As Deputy Headteacher leading Teaching and Learning, you will be an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting all pupils to achieve aspirational outcomes. Working closely with the Head Teacher and other senior colleagues the DHT will lead teaching and learning and ensure consistent fidelity to the Botley School Pedagogical Principles across all phases of the school, in order to make our motto, “Creating Excellence, Embracing All”, the lived experience for all children.
Under the direction of the Headteacher, you will:
- Lead Teaching and Learning across the school through the Pedagogical Principles
- Determine the strategic development of the curriculum to ensure consistent fidelity to the principles across all subject.
- To oversee the day-to-day operation of teaching and learning across all phases of the school with oversight on planning and assessment.
- Lead the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of quality first Teaching and Learning in liaison with the Headteacher and the Deputy Head teacher for Inclusion
- Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Undertake the professional duties of the Headteacher, in the event of their absence from school.
