Deputy Headteacher job summary
As Deputy Head Teacher at the Brookfield School, you will have the chance to teach in a creative and inspiring way, lead a team of committed teachers and to help us shape the vision of the school as we continue to move forwards to being an outstanding provision.
Working as part of the senior leadership team, you will help to set the vision for the future of the school, ensuring our young people leave our school as confident, resilient, emotionally literate, ambitious and tolerant young people who are effective communicators in wider society. We want them to be proud of what they have achieved and have high expectations of themselves and for their futures.
You will be an outstanding teacher who can continue to model this to colleagues and who has a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. You will be dedicated to working with families, championing vulnerable children and will have a working knowledge of SEN in terms of practice and legislative frameworks. As Deputy Head you will take on the role of SENDCo and be responsible for allocating significant resource for vulnerable pupils, including measuring their progress and reporting on impact.
We want to interview candidates who can evidence that they have experience of closing the gaps in learning for pupils who are experiencing challenge, particularly in regulating their behaviours. As importantly, you’re someone who is resilient, innovative and has the type of enthusiasm that’s infectious, so that you bring about change in a positive way. You’re also sensitive, respectfully challenging, patient and kind: just the type of leader our students, pupils and community can relate to.
Commitment to safeguarding
