We are delighted to share an exciting new opportunity to join the dedicated and inclusive team at Hartsholme Academy, part of Harbour Learning Trust, as Deputy SENDCo.

This is a key leadership role within our school’s inclusive provision, supporting the coordination and development of SEND practice to ensure that every child—regardless of need or starting point—experiences Delight and Joy, is supported to fulfil their Ambition, feels Nurtured, contributes to their Community, and is Empowered to succeed.

Working closely with the SENDCo, Senior Leadership Team, and the Trust’s SEND network, the Deputy SENDCo will play a pivotal role in shaping our provision for pupils with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive practitioner who is passionate about inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and educational excellence.

As Deputy SENDCo, you will:

  • Lead and manage a committed team of Teaching Assistants and support staff.

  • Coordinate day-to-day SEND provision, interventions, and support systems.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals.

  • Model and promote high-quality inclusive practice across the school.

  • Support the SENDCo in statutory compliance, audits, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, permanent, term-time (plus 5 days) position. You will report to the SENDCo/Vice Principal and work as part of a collaborative, values-driven trust that invests in professional development and reflective practice.
