Deputy SENDCo job summary

Wootton Academy Trust [WAT] consists of Wootton Upper School, which has 875 pupils in Years 9-11 rising to 1150 in September with the introduction of years 7 and 8 and 750 Kimberley 16-19 College.

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy SENDCo to join our Trust to work closely with the SENDCo to implement the strategic development of the Trust’s Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Policy throughout the school and college and oversee the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEND pupil achievement within the Trust.

The successful candidate will be joining a high performing team and so we are seeking an outstanding and ambitious individual who is passionate about Special Educational Needs and who will assist our experienced, highly-skilled SENDCo to continue to drive forward standards. This person will be passionate about outcomes for children with SEND. Ideally, they will have prior experience in this area. To support professional development, we would look to invest in the post holder completing the NASENCo qualification where relevant.
