Deputy Site Manager, Permanent
31 hours a week, Monday to Friday, all year round
Working 17:30 to 22:30, Monday to Wednesday and 13:30 to 22:00, Thursday and Friday
We are seeking someone to work as a proactive member of our Site Team. This is a hands-on role requiring a practical and proactive individual with good all-round maintenance skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a focus on delivering excellent service to all users of the site.
The Role:
We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced Deputy Site Manager to join our small, friendly site team, working late afternoons and during evenings, in a role that is integral to keeping our school site and its buildings looking great and operating safely.
Working under the direction of our Site Manager, and as part of the Site Team along with our other Deputy Site Manager, you will assist in carrying out both internal and external maintenance tasks across the school.
In addition, you will support with facilitating events, working to a refurbishment and decoration programme and responding to any incidents on site that may require immediate response. You will also be the main point of contact with contractors during out of hours work.
It’s a rewarding job, and we’ll give you all the training you need to succeed. You’ll need to enjoy independent working, being part of a team and be able to cope in a busy environment.
What we are looking for:
It is important you have good interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Experience of working in a similar role, or having a trade background would be an advantage.
You will also:
- have basic literacy and numeracy skills
- have a strong work ethic
- be able to work in a team and independently, under own initiative when needed
- be skilled in general DIY/maintenance/plumbing etc
- Be able to respond to any reasonable request from other staff members
- be knowledgeable in Health & Safety best practices
- be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- be comfortable using IT systems and managing online maintenance tools
