Robert Barclay Academy is part of Scholars’ Education Trust. We are looking for a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic teacher to join our highly successful team. We warmly welcome applications from ECT’s as well as experienced teachers.

You will be a practitioner who is always willing to learn and develop your teaching skills. You will have the necessary desire, energy and drive to further improve standards of achievement and ensure teaching is of the highest quality across all key stages.

Design and Technology is a popular subject at the Robert Barclay Academy. This is a very exciting time to join a well-equipped and experienced department with state of the art facilities. We are committed to developing young, ambitious designers of the future, who are given opportunities to explore different design and making techniques. Our classrooms include 21st century technology such as laser cutters, 3D printers and a computer suite. As well as this we have a fully equipped metal workshop, with a well-resourced multi-material classroom to compliment it.

In March 2023, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Good’ in all areas. As part of this Ofsted inspection, the parents were effervescent of their praise for the school (see Ofsted Parent View). We are a school on the rise and as result of our rapidly improving reputation, the school is expanding due to increased pupil numbers.

Robert Barclay Academy is part of the very successful Scholars’ Education Trust creating a formal link with Sir John Lawes School (OFSTED Outstanding). We offer an innovative induction programme and professional development programme both at Robert Barclay Academy and across the Trust, recognising that our staff are the key to our success.

If you are interested in joining us at this exciting time, further details and an application pack is available from HR@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk or on 01727 734424.

Diversity: The Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

RBA is also committed to becoming an anti-racist organisation. In our relentless efforts to be an anti-racist organisation, we recognise the negative impacts of under representation and lack of diversity in our organisation, our education system and in all aspects of our society. To help us meet our high standards and aspirations of a fully diverse and inclusive workplace, we strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply and to join us.

Closing date for applications: 9am – Wednesday 14 May 2025
