seeking to appoint a suitably experienced, and enthusiastic Design and
Technology Technician to support the continuing improvement of this large and
successful faculty. Whilst the role focuses largely on supporting teaching and
learning in the Product Design/Resistant Materials areas, the successful
candidate will also be required to work with the Food/Textiles Technician and
the Head of Art to support the preparation of resources and teaching and
learning across the whole faculty.
It is not
expected that all appropriate licences will be held for the safe use and
maintenance of machinery in the workshops and training will be provided. An
interest in, and aptitude for Computer Aided Design and Manufacture will be a
have a broad-based knowledge of materials and are reliable, organised, calm and
flexible with an enthusiasm for design as well as being confident dealing with
pupils. You are competent in a range of manufacturing techniques and have
practical experience of using tools and machines including pillar drill and
band saw. You must also be competent in
using IT and ordering systems. Previous
DT technician experience within a school or relevant industry experience is
