Design & Technology Teacher job summary

We are looking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic, and highly effective Design & Technology Teacher who can make a significant impact on our students' learning experiences.

The successful candidate will be someone who can inspire our students through their passion for Design & Technology, and who holds a firm belief in the potential of all students. Experience in teaching Design & Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4 is essential.

Our Textiles Room provides a bright and welcoming space where students can develop their creativity and practical skills in a hands-on environment. Equipped with sewing machines, cutting equipment, and dedicated work areas, the room allows students to experience the full design process from initial ideas through to finished products. Students enjoy working on a range of creative projects that help build confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills, while encouraging them to express their own ideas and develop a real sense of achievement in their work. The ability to teach Product Design across Key Stages 3 and 4 would also be highly desirable, helping to further strengthen the wider Design and Technology curriculum.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work within an innovative and supportive environment. Our school is part of the Synergy Multi‐Academy Trust, which has strong links with the Design Technology department at Reepham High School and College.

Synergy Multi Academy Trust

Litcham School is an ‘all through’ school which is one of 15 schools within Synergy Multi Academy Trust. Other Synergy secondary schools are Reepham High School & College, Sheringham High School and Stalham High School. Synergy MAT grew significantly in September 2021 when the North Norfolk Academies Trust (NNAT) merged with Synergy. Synergy already enjoys effective and productive trust wide collaboration, which is particularly strong in its primary schools, and the merger has paved the way for the next stage of collaboration between secondary schools. We expect being part of this collaboration will offer excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, but particularly at Senior Leadership level. This enhanced collaboration is now in its second year. To find out more about Synergy MAT, please visit its website www.synergymat.org.uk

Litcham School

Litcham School is an excellent school across both the Primary and the Secondary Phases. Outcomes have been strong for several years and our recently published Ofsted Graded inspection report judged the school to be Good in all areas. We firmly believe high quality Personal Development is the foundation of outstanding school–pupil rapport, pupils feeling a sense of belonging to and ownership of the school, positive school-community links and subsequent pupil progress.
