Design Technology Technician job summary
Cansfield High School are looking for a Design Technology Technician to join our Creatives faculty. Applicants will feel confident setting up, using and maintaining a range of workshop equipment and machinery, as well as supporting newer technologies like laser cutters, 3D printers and a variety of art processes.
Day to day, you’ll be preparing materials and resources for lessons — including woods, metals and plastics — keeping machinery in good working order, and making sure supplies are topped up. Experience in a school environment would be really helpful, as you’ll be supporting both students and staff in the workshops, but it’s not essential. If you bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide full training.
Our technicians play a huge part in creating a safe, inspiring space where students can experiment, design and build with confidence. If you’re organised, proactive and enjoy being part of a creative, hands‑on environment then we would love to hear from you.
32.5 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks. If you would like further information about this role then please contact Mrs Helen Aspinall on 01942 727391 or by email - h.aspinall@cansfield.wigan.sch.ukCansfield High School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
