What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a supportive, passionate and enthusiastic Technician to join our Design & Technology Team, which teaches practical and classroom-based subjects ranging from Food Preparation and Nutrition, Graphics, Textiles, Product Design and working with Resistant Materials.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:
- Apply their practical and communications skills to support students in the classroom.
- Supervise the safe use of tools and machinery by promoting Health & Safety legislation.
- Complete a highly valuable role in preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons to support the D & T Departments.
- Demonstrate an artistic flair in design and food subjects where imagination and creativity can embellish the students learning experiences.
You are likely to be someone who:
- Has experience working in a school or similar setting with young people.
- Is excited to show your imagination and creativity in Design & Technology, which would inspire our students in their own creative skills and gain confidence in using different materials to their best abilities.
- Can problem solve and ‘think on your feet’ to provide practical solutions.
- Is flexible, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively as well as being a team player who communicates effectively.
- Is organised, efficient and confident in their work and abilities.
- Has a commitment to the aims and values of comprehensive education, the school’s vision and ethos.
