We are looking for a Design & Technology Technician to support our innovative Technology Department. In this key role, you will help create a safe, well equipped, and inspiring for both students and staff. From maintaining tools and resources to supporting practical lessons and projects, your work will directly contribute to the development of the next generation of designers, makers, and engineers.

You Will:

  • Prep teaching spaces with tools, machinery, and materials ahead of practical sessions.

  • Keep our workshops safe, secure, and sparkling clean.

  • Maintain, repair, and care for our tools and equipment.

  • Support teaching staff during exciting hands-on lessons and demonstrations.

  • Supervise students using specialist equipment and ensure PPE is always used properly.

  • Manage stock levels, place orders, and keep the department well-resourced.

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety policies and risk assessments.

  • Be a positive role model for students – in attitude, professionalism, and teamwork.

What we are looking for:Essential:
  • 4 GCSEs (Grade 4+/A-C), including English and Maths.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a design or technology-based setting.

  • Knowledge of workshop tools, safety procedures, and IT systems (Microsoft Office).

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • A commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

  • Experience in a school environment or working with young people.

  • First Aid training.

  • Ability to carry out simple machinery and equipment repairs.
