We have an exciting opportunity at The Chase for a suitably qualified individual to contribute to our Design & Technology department as a Technician (Workshop). The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team.
You will be responsible for leading aspects of the maintenance of all machinery, equipment and tools, to maintain materials and carry out safety checks on a daily basis. You will also be expected to prepare resources for lessons and clear away after lessons. Providing technical advice to teachers and pupils relating to the operation of machinery and use of hand tools with assisting in practical lessons and carry out demonstrations. You will be expected to re-grind and sharpen tools when required, construct simple equipment, models and teaching aids and all duties to be carried out in compliance with our Health & Safety policy and procedures.
In addition, you will also be expected to maintain the school’s minibus fleet, organise, record and monitor minibus driver permits and coordinate the booking system. Provide a key cutting service and assist with general site repairs as and when required.
You must be NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent and have full working experience/knowledge of relevant policies and codes of practice of the relevant legislation, including knowledge of COSHH. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.
