Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Non Teaching job summary

As a DSL you will take lead responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection, including online safety, across the school. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Wider Safeguarding Team you will be responsible for the management of the school’s Child Protection Online Management System (CPOMS). You will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children and young people. You will ensure that the academy’s work in safeguarding children and young people is of the highest quality by making sure all policies, protocols and staff training are relevant and up-to-date

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of being a member of, or associated to, the Senior Leadership Team in an educational setting and have significant experience of working with vulnerable children and young people as well as managing child protection cases and investigations. Candidates will also be educated to GCSE\Level 2 qualifications including Maths, English and Science and should have a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications. Candidates will have a knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young peopleand the confidence and skills to provide professional challenge and support to other colleagues.
