What skills and experience we're looking for

Skills and knowledge

Ø Expert knowledge of KS4 and KS5 level Digital Media / IT curricula

Ø Understanding of high-quality teaching and learning strategies in Digital Media and IT, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve

Ø Strong practical skills within the Digital Media area including proficient use of video and audio editing software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud)

Ø Knowledge of Computer Graphic Authoring software (e.g. Animate; Toonboom) to produce animations and digital graphics

Ø Awareness of local and national organisations that can provide support with delivering the subject

Ø Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to inform planning

Ø Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders

Ø Ability to adapt teaching to meet students’ needs

Ø Ability to build effective working relationships with students

Ø Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children

Ø Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ø Knowledge of Digital-related industries and related pathways outside of education

Experience

Ø Teaching experience with students in KS4-5 at all ability levels

Ø Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning

Ø Experience of attending / leading INSET

Ø Strategic work: planning, decision-making and successful implementation

Ø Worked in a UTC previously
