Ridgeway Academy is part of the Ambition Education Trust (AET). The Ambition Education Trust (AET) consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire; three primary, one nursery and infants’, one junior and five secondary. Our Trust launched in September 2024 following the amalgamation of two established Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), Alban Academies Trust and Atlas Multi Academy Trust. As a member of the AET, we are able to maximise opportunities for rewarding careers and opportunities for personal and professional development throughout our wider organization.
We opened in September 2018, as part of the Alban Academies Trust, to great excitement from our community with the aim of becoming a truly outstanding school in the future. Our motto is ‘Everyone can achieve’ and we are looking to appoint an outstanding person who can help us achieve our ambitions.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding English specialist who has the necessary breadth of experience and expertise to direct the delivery of whole school improvements in English and Literacy.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of raising attainment in English and narrowing the gap for vulnerable students. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with and motivate a wide range of staff and students. The successful candidate will be qualified, passionate and an innovative leader.
The key responsibilities will be:
To improve student performance
Provide expertise in assessment and marking
Oversee excellent teaching and learning
Provide strategic direction informed by data
Grow KS5 provision
