What skills and experience we're looking for

Director of Maths required from 1 September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented, inspirational and driven professional to lead our Maths Department. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a passion for sharing their love of Maths and committed to improving their own subject knowledge and teaching practice to achieve impressive progress for all students. You will also need to demonstrate that you have a track record of achieving rapid and sustained progress and attainment for all groups of students and have had leadership responsibility.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Maths specialist with the drive to motivate and challenge pupils
  • Set and maintain high standards for academic achievement and behaviour
  • Contribute to the development and review of the curriculum so pupils are inspired to learn
  • Proactively contribute to the development of the department through professional development
  • Have a commitment to developing practice and pedagogy
  • Believe in creating strong relationships with pupils and contribute to the pastoral work of the school

The Maths Department:

The Maths team is a six strong, highly motivated and passionate group of maths specialists. Where problem solving is at the centre of everything we strive for, promoting the love of not just maths but also its applications. The department excel in teaching maths and ensuring all students make progress. The team welcome new voices and regularly meet to discuss and work collaboratively on the methodology and topics we teach.
