Due to the success and growth of the Academy the Board of Directors are seeking to appoint to the following post:
Director of Maths – Leadership Pay scale L9-L14
If you are highly ambitious and would like to join our extended leadership team at Sirius Academy North, then this role would be perfectly suited to you. If you are looking to be a part of the Senior Leadership Team within the next couple of years then this role is the ideal stepping stone. We are looking to recruit an exceptional candidate to the role of Director of Maths. You will lead a large and vibrant department to the next stage in their development. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with experience of raising standards for students and enhancing the skills of teachers. Easter/September 2020 start.

Essential educational requirements
Qualified Teacher Status
An honours degree in Mathematics or equivalent related to Mathematics
Evidence of relevant recent professional development
Outstanding subject knowledge in your area of specialism
Secure understanding of what is required to secure effective teaching and learning
Sound understanding of the strategies which help to raise students’ attainment
Knowledge and experience of harnessing the impact of new technologies
An understanding of performance and contextual data as tools for improving standards of student achievement
An understanding of up-to-date educational development nationally
Understanding of the practical application of Equal Opportunities in an Academy context
Essential skills and experience
A proven track record of excellence in the classroom
Current successful experience of a leadership role within a school
Experience of monitoring and evaluating teacher effectiveness in relation to standards and outcomes
Experience of working with other teachers and professionals to extend their understanding and effectiveness
