What skills and experience we're looking for

St Paul’s Way Trust School, in association with Queen Mary, University of London, and King’s College, London, seeks to appoint an exceptional Director of Performing Arts to join our experienced team of senior middle leaders. With senior responsibilities across our through school (4–19), the successful candidate will champion the development of Music and Drama in all years—both within the curriculum and as part of a vibrant co-curricular programme focused on creativity, expression, and excellence in performance. The successful candidate will develop and lead a strategy for enhancing the cultural and artistic life of our school community.

Performing Arts are a valued part of life at St Paul’s Way. Music and Drama are well established in the curriculum, and our school boasts a thriving calendar of performances, productions, concerts, and showcases. We are proud of our dedicated spaces and passionate staff team, and we encourage students to engage with the arts at all levels, including through enrichment opportunities and partnerships with external arts organisations.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented leader with a passionate commitment to placing the performing arts at the heart of school life. The successful candidate will develop an inspiring vision to embed creativity and performance across the St Paul’s Way curriculum and culture.

You will be an outstanding practitioner with a strong track record of raising standards in the performing arts and guiding students to artistic achievement.

You may already lead a performing arts department or be an exceptional teacher with a history of directing performances, building ensembles, or curating creative programmes that showcase talent and inspire audiences.

If you would like to play your part in ensuring outstanding creative and cultural provision for our students, we would very much like to hear from you.
